The white tom sat upon a frozen rock, his fur buffed up around him to help keep warm. It didn't help anyway. Nothing did. He was alone. Frozen, inside and out. Isolated.
Perhaps, that was the biggest part of the pain that pressed on his chest, that haunted him every passing day.
He closed his piercing ice-blue eyes, and wondered how different life would be is he could speak. If he wasn't cursed like this. If, maybe, one day, he could have a family. A Clan. Kin, cats he loved...
But he was alone. Icarus, the loner. Something time wouldn't dare change.
The snow-white tom sighed and wondered if he should go and hunt... He was hungry, and it's not like the cats from the Clan will mind. They have better things to do then chase loners around their territory.
Surely they wouldn't mind...

Lightningstrike hunted alone that cold day. Her gray and black fur was bristled a little and she kept low to the ground. So far, she had caught only two prey.
However, she froze at the smell that was carried by the wind. Her nose twitched and she siliently crouched forward, stalking the loner smell. She knew that smell well. The smell of no Clan.
She peered through the bushes to see a white tom. Her eyes went open and she jumped out. "What are you doing here?"

How Icarus wanted to reply to that.

He shot the black and grey she-cat a cold glare before turning his back on her. He wanted her to attack him. He wanted to prove that he is more then what he appeared. He would have given anything to show that the star-spirits where behind him.
That they had vowed to protect him no matter what.
The blue-eyed tom didn't reply, his back turned, he continued sitting upon his rock, flicking his bushy tail from side to side.

"Are you a loner, or a rogue?" Lightningstrike's tail swayed. Why was he ignoring her? What sort of tom was this? He obviously didn't know who she was. Maybe he thought he was better. Oh, how she'd like to proove that wrong. She remembered what her brother said, "You aren't strong enough!" Anger churned inside her. Oh, the glory of prooving that wrong.
