The small white cat sighed as she lifted a small, lithe paw that was flecked with small black-gray dots. Unsheathing her paws, the small, kit-sized apprentice dug her small claws into the dirt ground that settled below her feet.
She anxiously looked around the CascadeClan camp for someone to talk to, she was so lonely. Shadowpaw suppressed a small sniffling sound as she curled herself into a small ball below a fern bush, wrapping her tail neatly around her paws. With a heavy sigh, she closed her cobalt blue eyes, to stop her emotions from showing.

A small gray and white she-cat padded into the empty camp. She held two mice, a vole, and a bird. She dropped them into the fresh-kill pile and noticed Shadowpaw, her light-green eyes faced her. Moonrain grinned. "What's the matter?" Her gray tail twitched and her eyes shined with interest, which would probably die away. She couldn't find interest in another's pain, especially one so young.

Citruspaw bounced up to the rather saddened silver apprentice and grey and white warrior, waving his tail as he raced up, amber eyes aflame with barely supressed curiousity.
"Hey, Moonrain, hey, Shadowpaw!" he huffed as he plomped down on the ground in front of his two Clan-mates. "Everything ok?" It wasn't. He didn't have to ask. It was obvious. He hated it when cats were sad.
The cream tom delicately placed his tail over his paws and gave his chest a self-concious lick before glancing up and grinning encouragingly.
They better tell him or he'd... or he'd... or he'd eat them whole, he decided finally, grinning to himself.

The small black fleckled apprenticed, sheathed and unsheathed her paws at the two cats. She wasn't so used to so much company. She averted her Clan-mates eyes as she subconsiously flicked her tail nervously.
Lifting her gaze, Shadowpaw glanced at both Moonrain and Citruspaw alike. She quickly heaved herself onto her haunches, liked one of her paws, and drew it nimbly over her ears.
"Dunno," Shadowpaw answered truthfully. It wasn't exactly a lie. "Just a little depressed, I guess you could say. My emotions are getting the better of me."
OoC: Rowanfire would be glad to be Citruspaw's mentor! Anyway, do you think Moonrain could be Shadowpaw's mentor?

Moonrain blinked in question, then shrugged. "Ok. Have you had anything to eat?"
Moonrain's attention span could be short when it came to listening to other cats. She would rather talk about herself than the feelings of an apprentice.

The small black flecked silver apprentice shook her defined Bengal head as she glanced up, her blue eyes slightly clouded. She nervously shuffled her paws against the dirt below them, her claws slightly unsheathed.
"Well..." Shadowpaw's voice trailed off. "Not really... Well, for me that is. I've hunted for the elders, but not for myself... I haven't been that hungry...."

"Fine, then, we'll start training early. I see we don't need any hunting training--" she got up, "--so we'll work on fighting." Moonrain had started walking, doubting Shadowpaw would do very well. She almost felt smug about it. But she turned to check if she was following.

Citruspaw frowned. He hated it when he was left behind, staring at the others turn their backs and walk away. Cats have been doing that fairly often the last moon or so.
"Hey, wait! Hey, I can ask Rowanfire if we can train with you guys, yeah?" Perhaps training with her father nearby might make Shadowpaw feel better about herself. Frankly, he doubted it would make a difference, but he won't let down a possible training session.
He couldn't wait to finally become a warrior, though he sort of dreaded what sort of warrior-name he would receive. Probably something ugly. Citruspelt, Citrusclaw, Citrusfur, Citruswhisker, Citrusheart... Nothing sounded right, the way a normal, pretty warrior-name sounds like.
The cream tom shrugged and grinned. Well, only if he ever manages to become a warrior. He doubted it.
He doubted he'll survive the life of an apprentice too long, anyway.

The small black flecked silver apprentice flicked her ears in dismay as Citruspaw brought forth her father. Rowanfire was oblivious to Shadowpaw's depression, she always hid her emotions that weren't the happy ones from her parents. This could end badly.
Shadowpaw dipped her head to Rowanfire as he approached, and let out a faslely happy purr as she worked her unsheathed claws on the ground. She averted her father's eyes.
The apprentice turned to her mentor. "Shall we go then?" she mewed briskly.
OoC: May I suggest some warrior names for Citruspaw, since you had a question mark after the name "Citrusleaf" in his biography? Citruspool, Citrusrain, Citrusnose, Citrustear, etc?

She was doubting this. Just a minute ago her apprentice didn't want to say anything and now she had a purr. It wasn't natural.

"Yay! Rowanfire!" cheered Citruspaw as the spotted form of his mentor padded up. It was fun to pretend that Rowanfire was his idol. Follow him around everywhere, watch him with great interest when he eats, have every sentence directed at him sound like a cheer...
"Let's go training!"
Somehow, Citruspaw wouldn't be surprised if Rowanfire decided to retire early.

Rowanfire narrowed his eyes as he glanced at his daughter. Shadowpaw seemed... different somehow to him, and tense too. He wondered what was wrong as she padded softly near Citurspaw, keeping one ears slightly swrivled toward himself.
Speaking quietly, Shadowpaw mewed to Citruspaw, "Please don't tell Rowanfire about what happened back there, Citruspaw. I don't want him to know about any of this!"

Moonrain walked ahead of everybody, her ears twitching to every sound. She almost tripped over a root, but gained her balance and continued like nothing happened. If she heard anyone snicker, she would thrash them wildly. She unsheathed her claws just in case.
